After nearly eighteen years in my store on Madison Avenue at 78th street…I finally moved!...Space on Madison Avenue was hard to find and expensive...so I had a lot of trouble finding something that I thought would work. Finally…in Carnegie Hill at 93rd street...I found it! The area looks a little like a street in Paris...wonderful outdoor restaurants…charming shops…and a fun place to wander around…But the location…a two-story baby store…needed extensive renovations... |

I wanted the store to have a presence that I could relate to…and that you would enjoy. Since the old store had trompe l’oeil...bronze...and golden warm tones...I wanted this new emporium to be the opposite… platinum… nickel...silver…and crystal… Moroccan arches with pilasters in river-washed stone. I like the look of silver substituting for gold gilt…So... I silver-leafed the interiors of cabinets…mirrored the walls… |

I had the benefit of high ceilings…So…I covered them in a maze of chandeliers. Metal palm trees…cool 20th century Lucite…English warehouse trappings to use in a contemporary home…or warm 19th century furniture and accessories to use in your comfortable traditional surroundings… It’s All Here! |
